Task 5 Using a 3D Game Engine

For this task i created an arena level that would be used in a shooter game. We were given basic tutorials and we had to go from there, we were taught how to create basic structures and we did our own experimenting to create our own level. This is my work progress.

This was the basic structure that i put together using basic extruding methods.

I created this arch that i would use to connect different rooms together. I used Pro Builder to move the vetricies and edges separately.

I created a simple layout using the previous structures. this would be that base that i would build upon to create a better level.

I used the Unity Asset Store for a slim fence that i did not that i could make with my current skills. this is the only asset i downloaded apart from various materials.

I put the fences into the level to make it so that you could not fall out of the level as my vision would of been that the whole level would take place inside the building. At this point i was experimenting with different looks.

This was also an experiment that i used to connect the higher levels of the building.

I took the idea of connect higher areas of the level to a new level. I had the idea of having 2 floors to the levels with this tower as the connector.

This was my level prior of taking the step of added another floor.
The area that was the level was now underground as it is based on a prison. This made the whole level look more gloomy.

This is a cell that i created using the previous fence assets that i downloaded. I manipulated the sizes of the fences to fit the room as they are quite small on their own.

The top of the level looked baron as there was nothing there to occupy the space. I added a main building that would act as the main base of the guard of this prison.

This was the final design of the level, i created some rocks to fill out the empty space, i also thought it would make the place more menacing.

I like my final level design as i think that it looks pretty good and the later structures look a lot better than then the early structures due to my skills developing as i used the software and Pro Builder more. If i were to create another arena level it would be alot better as im a lot better at this software now and i would know how to do/create certain things that i did not not prior to this project.
